I've been searching in vein to find this fix, and seems to work, at least for me, and others who have tried it. How satisfied are you with this response? Some said that you have to register it, but just dropping it in the main directory where fsx.

Or, if this one still works with that OS, should it be somewhere other than in the FSX root directory? For some reason, the core problem lies with uiautoamtioncore.dll uiautomationcore.

I am still getting crash's in FSX after placing the Vista version of uiautomationcore. Flight Simulation's Premier Resource! I have tried every which way to get FSX to crash and I just cannot get it to!

Downloaded the dll and it's sitting on my desktop. What they do to correct it is apply uiautomaioncore.dll Affinity Mask setting dependent on your CPU type and whether or not you have Hyper Threading enabled or not. If you copy it off of a fully updated 32bit Vista system, they seem to have changed it recently.
